The famous Leaning Tower that looks down onto Piazza dei Miracoli, the lighting along the roads that run alongside the Arno, and the delightful Pisa Old Town. The whole province of Pisa is scattered with little gems and wonders of history, art and culture, just waiting to be explored, such as the Calci Charterhouse, just 10 km from the city, in the Val Graziosa; the building today hosts the Museum of Natural Sciences.
Further south, you can stop off at Vicopisano, a walled village dominated by the 12 loft towers looking down on it.
Another route of particular interest for art lovers explores Tuscan Romanesque architecture, and runs from the slopes of Monte Pisano through the parishes, convents and churches of the municipalities of Calci, San Giuliano Terme and Vicopisano.
